Burcu Ayan Ergen was born in Istanbul in 1982. She received her bachelor's degree from Yıldız Technical University, Art and Design Faculty, Art Department, Art Management Program in 2004, and her second undergraduate diplomas from the Compound Arts Program in 2006 at the same faculty.
In 2006, she graduated from Marmara University, Fine Arts Institute, Painting Department Master's Program and in 2011, Marmara University, Fine Arts Institute, Painting Department from the Proficiency in Art Program. The artist has six solo exhibitions and participated in many national and international duo, trio and group exhibitions.
The artist has been a participant and trainer in various National and International Symposiums, workshops and her articles have been published in refereed journals.
The artist / academician became Associate Professor in 2018 and was appointed as an Associate Professor at Yeditepe University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Art and Cultural Management, where she is still working as of February 1, 2020.
